The 2026 three-day autumn annual joint meeting of the IUGS Commission on Global Geochemical Baselines, the Geochemistry Expert Group of EuroGeoSurveys (EGS-GEG) and the Geochemistry Expert Group of the Asociación de Servicios de Geología y Minería Iberoamericanos (ASGMI-GEG) will be held in Espoo (Finland), and the premises of the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK).
GTK address: Vuorimiehentie 5, Espoo (Otaniemi campus area).
Meeting host is our colleague Jaana Jarva.
Hotels in Espoo: Radisson Blu and Hotel Heymo, which are both within walking distance from the venue.
Since, most people would like to stay in Helsinki, the Metro station is located next to the venue in Espoo, and it takes about 15 minutes to travel from Helsinki city centre to the Otaniemi campus area.

- 40th Anniversary of the EuroGeoSurveys Geochemistry Expert Group (1986-2026), which is the most active group in the whole world. It produced a large volume of work, including many reports, publications and geochemical atlases, e.g., the FOREGS Geochemical Atlas of Europe, the Groundwater Geochemical Atlas of Europe, and the Geochemical Atlas of Agricultural and Grazing land soil (GEMAS).
- 20th Anniversary since the publication of the two-volume atlas of the FOREGS Geochemical Atlas of Europe (2006).
Further, the Geological Survey of Finland is celebrating its 140th Anniversary, a Survey that has produced an enormous amount of good quality geological work, and national geochemical atlases. GTK led the FOREGS Geochemical Atlas of Europe project, and is hosting its website.
